The deadline for submitting proposed revisions (Public Input) to the 2029 edition of the National Electrical Code® (NEC®) is April 9, 2026.
Your expertise and experience are vital to shaping the next edition of the NEC. Electrical contractors understand how the Code impacts real-world installations, and your input helps ensure it remains practical, effective, and safe.
This is our Code — and the legally adopted standard in most jurisdictions. Let’s improve it together.

We are excited to share the latest developments regarding NECA’s library of ANSI-Accredited standards. The National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS™) embodies NECA’s commitment to excellence in striving to ensure safety, reliability, quality, and efficiency of electrical installations.
2025 has been a very busy year for the NEIS, continuing to revise and create new standards across multiple scopes. In the last six months, the NEIS has published TWELVE new and revised standards, with TWO more slated for publication by the end of 2025.
Standards Development work will continue strong in 2026, with several standards being created, revised, and ultimately voted on by the Consensus Body Members. If you are interested in participating in the development process of the NEIS™ contact NECA Codes and Standards at [email protected] to volunteer to participate in an NEIS™ Consensus Body.
