Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Resources

The NECA-IBEW jointly developed regulatory comments and submitted them to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on the use of qualified electricians and Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP) when conducting Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) work. The comments requested the implementation of apprenticeship quality standards and responsible contracting policies to ensure the highest quality of workers and contractors. We also advocated for proper flood mitigation, security measures, and be done with the latest safety codes. You can read the comments here.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has several programs that are supported by the IIJA. They can be found here.

The GSA is closely tracking funding for Land Ports of Entry (LPOE) projects under the IIJA. You can find general information as well as information on the 26 LPOE’s that are slated to be updated here.

To empower smaller contractors and those new to infrastructure projects to build safely, OSHA also recently released a webpage of resources with best practices, sample safety and health programs and training materials.

The USDA Rural Development Broadband ReConnect Program furnishes loans and grants to provide funds for the costs of construction, improvement, or acquisition of facilities and equipment needed to provide broadband service in eligible rural areas. You can find more information here.
