The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Chairman's Challenge

CONTEST TIMELINE: JANUARY 1, 2023 - DECEMBER 31, 2023

Our inaugural Chairman’s Challenge in 2014 was a great success, with increased involvement each year since. The site visits either created or expanded on our members’ relationships with Members of Congress. It gave our members an opportunity to discuss NECA’s policy positions and showed Members of Congress first-hand how these issues impact the electrical construction industry.

Thank you all for your participation in this program and for expanding NECA’s grassroots efforts across the country. We look forward to another productive year of one-on-one meetings with your Senators and Representatives – right in your own backyard!

 

The Challenge:

In order to increase member involvement in NECA Government Affairs, we encourage all NECA Chapters to participate in the following areas to earn points for your chapter:

  • Congressional visits at a member’s company, jobsite, or NECA Chapter office—5 Points/visit
  • Respond to a NECA Action Alert by writing a letter to your Member of Congress—1 Point/letter
  • Attend the NECA Legislative Conference in Washington, DC—3 Points/attendee

For Congressional visits, be sure to have a picture taken with the Member of Congress so we can announce your meeting in our weekly newsletter.

The chapter that has the most points by December 31, 2023 will win the Chairman's Challenge. 

The Prize:

One free registration to the NECA 2024 National Legislative Conference and a special award to be presented at the Association Executive Institute (AEI) Meeting.

The Bonus: 

For NECA chapters striving to reach 50 percent member participation for their NECAPAC goal we will allow your Chairman’s Challenge points to count for up to half of your participation goal. For example, if you have 100 members and your participation goal is 50, no more than 25 Chairman’s Challenge points can be attributed to your NECAPAC participation goal.

All participants and the winner will be recognized during the NECA 2024 National Legislative Conference.

Recognition will include:

  • Announcement of all participants
  • Slideshow of all visits
  • Award presentation to winning chapter at AEI.
