NECA EMERGE 2026: A Conference Built to Educate What’s Next
NECA EMERGE 2026 delivered on its promise to be a truly transformative experience, bringing together contractors, industry leaders, and innovators for a dynamic, all-in-one event designed to maximize both impact and efficiency. By consolidating several of NECA’s most valued meetings, including Service & Maintenance, Business Development, and Limited Energy & Systems Integration (NECA-BICSI), this groundbreaking conference created a streamlined, high-value experience for attendees across the electrical construction industry.
Over three days, participants explored key business trends, emerging technologies, and specialized contractor disciplines, all under one roof. The result was more than just a conference, it was a collaborative hub where ideas were exchanged, strategies refined, and the future of the industry took shape.
A New Era of Connection, Innovation, and Opportunity
NECA EMERGE featured five focused tracks: Business Development, Emerging Opportunities, Limited Energy & Systems Integration, Service & Maintenance, and the highly anticipated new Prefabrication Track. Each offered targeted insights and practical takeaways, equipping attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to stay competitive in an evolving market. NECA EMERGE 2026 also displayed how the electrical construction industry has developed its approach to education, training, and professional development. Each track emphasized real-world application, ensuring participants left not just informed, but prepared to implement new ideas within their organizations.
Education at EMERGE began even before the main conference, with pre-conference sessions designed to deliver deep technical knowledge. One standout session, “PoE Lighting and Automation for Electrical Contractors,” provided a comprehensive look at Power over Ethernet systems, covering everything from IEEE standards (802.3af, 802.3at, 802.3bt) to system design, interoperability, and real-world deployment. Attendees gained actionable insight into how PoE is transforming lighting, controls, and intelligent building systems; positioning contractors to confidently design, sell, and install these advanced solutions.
The debut of the Prefabrication Track stood out as a defining highlight of the event. Attendees were given rare, behind-the-scenes access to active prefab facilities across the Atlanta area and an opportunity to see innovation in action and learn directly from leading contractors who are redefining efficiency and scalability.
Inside the Prefabrication Advantage
Through immersive facility tours and interactive town hall sessions, attendees experienced firsthand how prefabrication is transforming operations across the industry.
At Allison-Smith Company, visitors explored more than 360,000 square feet of prefab space supporting a workforce of over 1,000 electricians who logged more than 3 million hours last year. The tour showcased core operations, including VDC and non-VDC support, modular construction solutions, and even a live BuildTime simulation demonstrating how technology and planning converge to drive productivity.
United Electric Company offered a look inside its 10,000-square-foot prefab warehouse, where teams produce everything from transformers and panel assemblies to large-diameter conduit bends and temporary power solutions. Attendees gained insight into how the shop’s field coordination and planning stations, along with its assembly areas, contribute to enhanced safety, consistency, and operational efficiency.
At Inglett & Stubbs, participants toured a 76,000-square-foot facility staffed by more than 100 prefab electricians, along with a robust team of BIM professionals and designers. The visit highlighted how innovation, design integration, and workforce expertise combine to create one of the most forward-thinking prefab operations in the nation.
Complementing the tours, Prefabrication Town Hall sessions fostered open dialogue among contractors, encouraging the sharing of best practices, candid discussions of challenges, and collaborative problem-solving aimed at advancing both individual businesses and the industry as a whole.
General Sessions That Inspired and Challenged
NECA EMERGE 2026 also featured four compelling general sessions that addressed leadership, technology, and the human side of innovation.
Rennie Curran’s “CAPITALIZE: From High Performer to High-Performing Leader” set the tone by challenging attendees to rethink leadership at every level. Drawing from his own journey, Curran emphasized the importance of recognizing hidden opportunities, building meaningful relationships, and adopting daily habits that elevate both individual and team performance.
In “AI in Action: What You Need to Know Now,” Noelle Russell brought clarity to one of the most talked-about topics in business today. She demystified artificial intelligence, offering practical guidance on how organizations can adopt AI responsibly and strategically while maintaining a strong ethical foundation. Her message empowered leaders to move from curiosity to confidence in navigating the future of technology.
Day three featured a forward-looking panel discussion, “Leading Forward: Vision, Transition, and the Future of Our Industry.” CEO of Southwire Ganesh Ramaswamy, President of Bishop Brogdon Mark Bates, and Senior Vice President of Marketing at Graybar Danna Stone, along with moderator/Executive Director of ELECTRI International Josh Bone, shared insights on navigating change, preparing for generational transitions, and positioning organizations for long-term success in a rapidly evolving landscape.
Closing the event on a creative and memorable note, John Ondrasik (Five for Fighting) delivered an engaging session blending storytelling, music, and business insight. His reflections on creativity, resilience, and innovation paired with live performances of his well-known songs, offered a unique perspective on leadership, teamwork, and the value of perseverance.
NECA EMERGE 2026 lived up to its name bringing the industry together to emerge stronger, smarter, and more connected. By combining technical learning, business strategy, and real-world application, the event provided attendees with a comprehensive toolkit to tackle today’s challenges and seize tomorrow’s opportunities.
As the electrical construction industry continues to evolve, NECA EMERGE stands as a powerful example of how collaboration, innovation, and forward-thinking leadership can drive lasting progress.
