2024 Adopt-a-School Success
In 2024, NECA had the privilege of supporting two San Diego-area schools through the Adopt-a-School program: Herbert Hoover High School and Mary Fay Pendleton Elementary School. Representatives from both schools visited the NECA convention and trade show on October 11th. Students, teachers and administrators from San Diego Unified School District’s Sustainable Academy of Building & Engineering toured the trade show and met with NECA and IBEW representatives, NECA members and exhibitors, learning more about the electrical contracting industry.
This opportunity to connect with students and faculty provides a chance to show the many facets of electrical contracting and career possibilities, while assisting schools financially with the proceeds of the silent auction. This year, NECA Premier Partners also donated nearly $40,000 worth of tools and supplies in support of Hoover High School’s construction education project in which two tiny homes will be built by students. Upon completion, these homes will be used within the school district.
