2023 National Award Winners: Marco A. Giamberardino earns Abraham Lincoln Leadership Award
The National Electrical Contractors Association established the Abraham Lincoln Leadership Award in 2017 to recognize a NECA member for outstanding achievement in federal, state, or local advocacy engagement. The 2023 recipient of the award is Marco A. Giamberardino, Senior Vice President of NECA Government and Public Affairs. Giamberardino has consistently worked toward the continued success and growth of the electrical construction industry by advocating for NECA contractors at every level of legislation. In 2017, NECA won the Showalter Innovation Award for advances in political involvement programs by increasing and encouraging member engagement. Marco has been named "Top Lobbyist" by The Hill newspaper every year since 2018 and in 2021 and 2022 was also named "Top Lobbyist" by the National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics.
Over the last near decade, Giamberardino has volunteered his time in other areas related to electrical construction, such as serving on the board and as Chair of the Small Business Legislative Council (SBLC). His leadership was valued by SBLC members, an independent, permanent coalition of trade and professional associations that share a common concern for the future of small business. He also sits on the Electrical Safety Foundation International board and is a member of both the American Society of Association Executives and the National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics.
Due to Giamberardino’s dedication and passion to turn NECA's advocacy, lobbying and political operations into an impactful 360-degree advocacy model for all members, Marco A. Giamberardino is the 2023 recipient of the Abraham Lincoln Leadership Award.
