The Wendt Award, established in 1998, is the highest honor bestowed annually by ELECTRI International. Named for industry icon Albert G. Wendt, President of Cannon & Wendt Electric Company, Inc., the award honors individuals for their exemplary leadership and service to the electrical construction industry. ELECTRI International is proud to present the 2023 award to Greg Gossett, CEO and Board Chair, ERMCO, Inc.
Throughout his 40‐year career with ERMCO, Mr. Gossett has served in a variety of positions starting as a Journeyman/Wireman, progressing to Vice President of Construction Operations, to his current role as CEO and Chairman. He is responsible for leading ERMCO’s executive team and for ensuring the long-term viability of the company that was founded by his father in 1962. Today, ERMCO has grown to more than 650 field staff and 130 office staff and has achieved an annual revenue record of more than $212 million. With Greg Gossett’s guidance, the company has established a strong national presence and its services have expanded to include pre-construction, technology solutions, automation and maintenance.
In addition to overseeing the strategic direction and delivery of ERMCO’s premier electrical construction portfolio, Mr. Gossett has been active in the construction industry throughout his career, serving on committees and boards as well as contributing to research papers, articles, and presentations for many industry organizations including ELECTRI International, the National Electrical Contractors Association, Coalition for Construction Safety, Indiana Subcontractors Association, Indiana Construction Roundtable, Indiana Careers in Construction Association, and The Electric Roundtable peer group.
In 2006, ERMCO, under the leadership of Greg Gossett’s late brother, Darrell Gossett, joined the ELECTRI Council. As Greg Gossett became directly involved with ELECTRI International, he served on the Program Review Committee from 2011 through 2020, participated on and led several Task Forces to help guide essential ELECTRI research initiatives, and continues to share his industry expertise as a member of ELECTRI panel discussions. He has represented ERMCO and NECA’s Central Indiana Chapter on the ELECTRI Council and has ensured ERMCO’s continued involvement with an additional financial commitment in 2014 and by recruiting key ERMCO executives to share their industry experiences in support of the ELECTRI program agenda.
For his many contributions and service to ELECTRI International and NECA and for his long and distinguished history of leadership and commitment to advancing the electrical construction industry, Greg Gossett is the 2023 recipient of ELECTRI International’s Wendt Award.
