NECA Gives Back to Austin Community Through Adopt-a-School Program

NECA is participating in the adopt-a-school program, connecting local, lower-funded schools in underprivileged communities with the electrical construction industry. NECA, the IBEW, vendors, and contractors investing in communities allows them to jumpstart a prospective long-term return on investment by providing a motivated talent pool for the electrical construction industry

NECA and Premier Partner 3M have joined together to adopt two schools in Austin: Navarro Early College High School and Travis Early College High School. Supporting schools as students are in their formative years allows construction to make an early impression as a valuable career path. By participating in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs, students can recognize the benefits of joining the trades and the immediate impact it makes on uplifting their communities. This results in long-term growth for contractors and electricians by producing a diverse, well-rounded generation of talent that’s ready to work upon graduation.

Proceeds from the Silent Auction at NECA 2022 Austin will benefit the adopted schools.
