NECA Praises Biden Administration’s EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan

Feb 11, 2022

Today, the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Transportation announced $5 billion in funding for the deployment of a national electric vehicle (EV) charging network. David Long, chief executive officer of NECA, made the following statement:

I want to thank Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg for this exciting announcement that will evolve America's electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and kickstart the creation of a national EV charging network impacting millions of Americans.

The projects that result from these funds will be crucial to revitalizing our nation's infrastructure, and will provide opportunities for NECA's highly skilled and qualified electrical contractors and their field workforce to be essential stakeholders in the growth of the EV market.
