NECA Celebrates the 7th Annual National Apprenticeship Week

Nov 15, 2021

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is proud to celebrate the seventh annual National Apprenticeship Week, held November 15-21, 2021.

National Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration where industry, labor, equity, workforce, education, and government leaders host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for re-building our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, and supporting underserved communities. NAW is an opportunity to highlight how Registered Apprenticeship provides a critical talent pipeline that can help to address some of our nation’s pressing workforce challenges such as responding to critical supply chain demands and supporting a clean energy workforce, modernizing our cybersecurity response, addressing public health issues, and rebuilding our country’s infrastructure.

"Apprenticeship programs are the greatest tool we have to boost the electrical construction industry, providing opportunities to create the next generation of leaders and skilled workers," said NECA CEO David Long. "The electrical training ALLIANCE, our joint training program with the IBEW, has trained over 350,000 apprentices to journeyman status through local affiliate programs, developing the best electrical workers the industry has to offer. I am also honored to be part of the Department of Labor's Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship, working to develop new strategies and approaches to ensure a more widespread awareness of these opportunities."
