He authored or co-authored several research reports for the foundation, including studies on best practices for prefabrication for electrical contractors, examinations of productivity and labor efficiency, and more.
In his research, Rounds has focused primarily on project management. In 2001, he became the AGC Endowed Chair Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of New Mexico. Since becoming involved with ELECTRI International, he also taught courses on project management at various NECA events and workshops, constantly working to set electrical contractors up for success on their projects. In recognition of his service to ELECTRI International and the industry overall, the foundation presented him with a special lifetime achievement award in 2019.
