The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. OSHA Directive Update

Mar 13, 2020
NECA is pleased to report that we have received clarification concerning a reported OSHA directive to make COVID-19 a recordable illness on OSHA 300 logs.

NECA worked directly with the USDOL to explain the impact this would have on the electrical contracting industry. As a result of our initiative in taking on this complex issue, OSHA on March 13 issued additional details making it clear that COVID-19 can be a recordable illness "...if a worker is infected as a result of performing their work-related duties."

The directive was intended for individuals working in hospitals or environments where their work-related duties put them in direct exposure to COVID-19. NECA contractors will not be required to list COVID-19 outbreaks on their OSHA 300 logs since a construction job site does not put employees at direct risk.

The updated directive can be found here:  https://www.osha.gov/SLTC/covid-19/standards.html

OSHA is working on a Frequently Asked Questions document to give more specific guidance in light of rapidly evolving circumstances. Any updates will be posted directly on the OSHA website
