NECA’s Giamberardino Named to the Hill’s Top Lobbyists 2019 List
For the second year in a row, the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) has been named as one of the nation’s top lobbying operations by The Hill newspaper.
The publication’s annual ranking of top lobbyists lists NECA Vice President of Government and Public Affairs, Marco Giamberardino, as one of the The Hill’s Top Lobbyists for 2019. This is a very prestigious acknowledgement of the most influential policy experts as there are over 12,500 registered lobbyists in Washington, D.C.
Giamberardino said the recognition is due to the incredible hard work of NECA’s government affairs staff. This year alone the team helped enact several key industry priorities, including full repeal of the Cadillac Tax, allowing construction apprentices to utilize funds from a 529 account and lowering the payment period for small prime contractors from 30 days to 15 days. Among several regulatory successes the team helped champion, are the inclusion of a construction industry exemption for the Industry Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAP) proposed rulemaking and working with the U.S. Department of Labor to gain approval of two new apprenticeship standards for electrical workers.
