The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. NECA Legislative Top Three 12/6/19: Government Efficiency at Work?

Dec 5, 2019

1. Federal Government Consolidates Platforms for Federal Work

The federal government has recently closed its main platform for information on solicitations, fbo.gov. It has begun to transfer these opportunities and all new projects over to the beta platform SAM or System for Award Management, beta.sam.gov. This transfer is the first step of many as the federal government begins to consolidate all ten platforms it uses to provide NECA contractors with solicitations and other project information.

NECA’s Look Ahead: NECA encourages the consolidation of the federal system for award management. The simplification of these platforms will only aid NECA contractors as they search for business and complete their federally funded work.

2. NECA Urges Congress to Pass Appropriations Bills Before Deadline

NECA, along with other members of the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC), sent a letter urging Congress to complete the 2020 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) Appropriations Act.

NECA’s Look Ahead: We will continue to work with Congressional leaders to encourage swift passage of the THUD bill and all other remaining appropriations bills before government funding expires on December 21, 2019.
