Final Slate of Speakers Announced for Legislative Conference

Apr 25, 2019

NECA is excited to announce that in addition to House Small Business Committee Chair Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE), Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), and political analyst Amy Walter will speak at this year’s National Legislative Conference.

Rep. Don Bacon serves on the House Armed Services Committee, Agriculture Committee, and Homeland Security Committee. He championed the NECA-supported change order legislation and will speak on the importance of NECA’s involvement in getting that legislation passed into law.

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick represents Pennsylvania's First District outside of Philadelphia. During his time in Congress, he has been an amazing advocate for NECA and the entire industry, especially with his work on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Additionally, Congressman Fitzpatrick serves on the Foreign affairs Committee. Rep. Fitzpatrick will speak to our contractors on the importance of infrastructure investments and union construction.

Political journalist Amy Walter is slated to return to the NECA Legislative Conference, again giving the keynote speech. She last spoke to NECA members at the 2016 NECA Legislative Conference. With over 20 years of experience and a reputation built on accuracy and objectivity, Walter is the national editor of The Cook Political Report, where she provides analysis of the issues, trends and events that shape the political environment. Her columns appear on CookPolitical.com. She is also the host of WNYC’s The Takeaway (Politics with Amy Walter) and a regular contributor to the PBS NewsHour, offering her perspective weekly on “Politics Monday.”

NECA looks forward to hearing from these dynamic speakers and welcoming over 200 NECA contractors to Washington, D.C. next week.
