Hunt Electric
Hunt Electric hosted a food drive and packing party to support The Open Door Food Pantry, an organization at the forefront of providing food to community members across Dakota County. The initiative was inspired by a desire to give back in response to recent events in Minnesota. While local food shelves had seen a surge in donations earlier in the year, many experienced a noticeable decline by early March. Organizing an office food drive became a meaningful and tangible way to help fill that gap.
Over the course of a week, employees came together to contribute in a variety of ways. Several departments even organized their own monetary collections and coordinated shopping trips to purchase large quantities of high-need items. The collective effort culminated in a packing event where volunteers assembled 100 to-go bags, each designed to help Open Door patrons supplement their regular grocery visits with essential staples.
The generosity did not stop there. Donations filled an entire SUV and pickup truck, and when delivered, the total contribution weighed in at an impressive 861 pounds of food. The impact was immediate and meaningful, directly supporting individuals and families in the community.
The effort served as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together with a shared purpose. The Hunt Electric team walked away feeling proud, inspired, and grateful to be part of such a giving community.
