New Framework Assigns a Unique ID to Every Structure

Facility managers and operators working to electrify buildings should ensure the building envelope is sound, keeping heat inside the building on cold days and outside when it is hot, an expert said this week in a panel at the ASHRAE Annual Conference.

A Very Happy Birthday to Our Association

This Friday, July 17 marks NECA's 125th Birthday! On July 17, 1901, a group of allied contractors met in the New York State Building on the Pan-American Exposition grounds and ratified the National Electrical Contractors Association of the United States into being. In 2026, we mark 125 years since that founding moment. What started with a small group of contractors has grown into the voice of an entire industry, and none of it would have been possible without the members, staff, partners and leaders who have carried these founding objectives forward for over a century. Thank you to everyone, past and present, who has made this association what it is today!

In Memoriam

NECA mourns the loss of AJ Pearson, whose career was devoted to training the next generation of electricians. AJ served as Executive Director of the NJATC (now the electrical training ALLIANCE) and later as Training Director for the Electricians Training Academy of Knoxville. In 2023, Tennessee Chapter NECA honored him as the first non-member ever to receive its President's Award for Leadership. Remembered for his kindness, humility, and love for people, AJ's influence will be felt for generations through the countless apprentices and industry leaders he mentored. Our thoughts are with his family and all who knew him.
