Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Remote Power Delivery: PoE vs. Powered Fiber – Understanding the Difference

Wednesday, May 24
8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

The IEEE PoE standard supports power delivery of nearly 100 watts to network devices over 100 meters of 4-pair category cabling. As hybrid-powered fiber cabling is deployed deeper into the network, powered fiber is increasingly utilized to provide the capability to go beyond the 100-meter distance limitation of PoE. This session will identify the similarities and key differences between PoE and powered fiber solutions and how these solutions can co-exist and complement one another.
