New Cabling Standards for the Buildings of Today and Tomorrow

Tuesday, May 24
10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

The pandemic has accelerated changes within commercial buildings which, in turn, is changing where and how cabling is installed. Yesterday people were running cables to outlets on a wall. Today cables are being run to new locations such as security cameras and wireless access points. Tomorrow cables will be running to even more equipment such as Building Automation Systems (BAS), intelligent lighting and sensors. Standardization is critical for the adoption of both the cabling and the changing technologies. This session will address the new and upcoming standards designed to accommodate these trends.
