Phil Chianetta

SAL Electric

With nearly four decades of experience in the electrical industry, Philip Chianetta has built a career defined by dedication, leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing the trade. A graduate of Monmouth University, he currently serves as President and CEO of The SAL Electric Company, where he continues to guide the company’s growth, culture, and long standing reputation for excellence.

His influence extends well beyond his own organization. He is the division chairman of The NECA – (Hudson, Bergen, Essex County) as well as the Chairman of the JATC for NECA/IBEW Local 164, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping apprenticeship standards and strengthening labor management partnerships. Nationally, he contributes to the future of the trade as a member of the Electrical Training Alliance Core C3Committee and as member of The ELECTRI Council, helping to steer industry research, education, and innovation. His journey began humbly at SAL Electric in 1988, where he worked his way through nearly every position in the company—truck driver, warehouse associate, five year apprenticeship program, estimator, chief estimator, project manager, director of operations, and vice president. This hands on progression gave him a rare, comprehensive understanding of the electrical contracting business from the ground up, shaping the leader he is today.
