Lina Jariri graduated from American University, Washington D.C. in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, Justice in the Global Community. During her undergrad, she volunteered at an Adult Day Care Center, assisting staff with activities and just being an ear. She worked for Martone Construction as an office manager before moving to Amman, Jordan to be married to a Jordanian who was at the time serving in the Jordanian Armed Forces. She lived in Jordan for 4½ years. Shortly after moving to the Middle East, she began working for Relief International in the Amman office as a Sports Exchange Consultant for Sports Exchange programs with the US Embassy. She traveled to California, connected with L.A. Scores and L.A. University Sports coaches & Cal Poly, and visited Kellogg’s ranch.

Lina moved back to the US in 2012 and worked at Sibley Memorial Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine for seven years, serving on the council for D&I Equity for four years, as Co-Chair of the Equity sub-committee for one year. In 2015 she volunteered with United Way in D.C., Project Homeless Connect, helping with registration forms and making language barriers not an obstacle to service. In 2019 she switched career paths and came to NECA where she has been promoted to Human Resources.

Lina resides in Arlington, VA with her husband, who is an HVAC Technician, two school-age daughters, and a cat, Lilly, from Florida’s Hurricane. Previously she served on the Elementary School Parent D&I committee for three years and participated in the Challenging Racism course. Currently she serves on the NECA Taskforce and Bystander sub-committee and as Girl Scouts Co-Troop Leader for Cadettes.

Lina enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and exploring new things. Lina is a “foodie” which she believes is the soul of understanding others’ histories. Lina loves watching movies and the World Cup.
