The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
The Codes and Standards program supports the NECA Membership through the Codes and Standards Committee, by actively participating in the development of the NEC®. Codes and Standards also provides training through NECA Education and is responsible for the oversight of the National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS™) library.
With over one hundred (100) years of support in codes and standards development, NECA’s Codes and Standards program continues to be recognized as an industry leader at the table where these important rules are made. NECA was among the first active participants in the NEC® development process in the early 1900s and continues to be actively involved today with representation on: NFPA’s Standards Council, the NEC® Correlating Committee, each NEC® Technical Committee, as well as representation on many other Codes and Standards impacting the electrical industry. In addition to participating in outside code and standards development, NECA is an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer (ASD) managing forty-six (46) of their library of National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS), focusing on workmanship in electrical construction. All this important work positions NECA’s Codes and Standards program at the forefront of key issues in turn, providing support, resources, and training to the NECA Membership.
