Workplace Electrical Safety: Common Causes of Workplace Electrical Fatalities
Electricity is all around us. As new technologies are integrated into our lives and workplaces - such as electric vehicle supply equipment, energy storage systems, and lithium-ion batteries - there are more potential touchpoints with electricity that could put workers at risk of electrical injury or fatality. Over the last 14 years, both the number and rate of electrical incidents have remained steady despite an increase in awareness of electrical hazards. This session reviews data compiled from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Bureau of Labor Statistics to identify the commonalities of electrical injuries and fatalities.
