National Electrical Contractors Association Statement in Advance of President Biden’s State of the Union Address

Mar 1, 2022

David Long, Chief Executive Officer of the National Electrical Contractors Association, made the following statement in advance of President Biden’s State of the Union Address on March 1, 2022:

We continue to face unprecedented times, with the challenges of COVID-19 and renewed disruptions to world peace. During his term, President Biden has continued to support NECA contractors and the IBEW workforce.

Last year’s passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will jump start the construction industry and put our contractors to work. However, the United States still faces supply chain issues, workforce shortages, and rising inflation.

NECA stands ready to continue our work with the Biden Administration and Congress to pass critical legislation that will address these issues and more, including a robust investment in our infrastructure and manufacturing capacity, ensuring quality apprenticeship programs, and help us lead on new innovative projects and green energy opportunities.
