Google Secures Approval for Geothermal to Power Data Centers

More than half — 55% — of the $3.55 billion invested in construction technology in the first quarter of 2025 went toward funding next-generation robotics and artificial intelligence-enabled technology, compared to less than 30% in all of 2024, according to a report from Chicago-based Nymbl Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in the built world.

NECA's Government Affairs team is actively engaging with Congress to ensure pro-NECA provisions are enacted. We've had some big wins recently, including securing a permanent increase of the S-Corporation deduction to 23% for pass-through entities, which provides significant tax relief for NECA members, and restoring 100% bonus depreciation and raising the Section 179 limit to $2.5 million to support immediate expensing of investments.
