Family of Former NECA Employee, H. Brooke Stauffer, Gets Closure After 17 Years

After 17 years, searchers have finally discovered the wreckage of a small plane that went down over Lake Huron in 2007, and the remains of one of its passengers, H. Brooke Stauffer, according to Michigan state police in a statement on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024. Stauffer, 56, was NECA’s executive director of standards and safety.

August 2024 Government Affairs Recap

Capitol Hill was quiet this month as legislators returned to their respective districts for August Recess. Congress will return to DC for three weeks in September where most of their time will likely be spent in budget negotiations. With such little time before government funding expires, Congress will likely pass a Continuing Resolution or “CR” that funds the government at last year's levels.
