$176B plan unveiled to rebuild Northeast rail corridor

The Northeast Corridor Commission — a coalition of Amtrak, commuter transit agencies, states and the U.S. Department of Transportation — announced Nov. 16 an ambitious 15-year plan to rebuild the Boston-New York City-Washington, D.C., rail line.

$16B Gateway Program construction finally underway

After years of delays and political fights, construction finally began Nov. 3 on the Hudson River Tunnel portion of the Gateway Program, a $16.1 billion group of projects that will double capacity for the Northeast Corridor rail segment connecting New Jersey and New York City. President Joe Biden in January called Gateway “one of the biggest, the most consequential projects in the country.”

Industry Connect Event Introduces Students to Electrical Contractors and New Technology

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week 2023, ELECTRI International proudly partnered with the Maryland NECA chapter and the IBEW Local 24 to host an Industry Connect event on Friday, November 17th at the Baltimore Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee (JATC) facility. More than 50 students attended the event, coming from CAT North (Anne Arundel), Frederick County CTE and Sollers Point High School.

NECA's Innovation Institute Accepting Members' Emerging Leaders for Upcoming Cohorts

NECA is currently accepting applications for two cohorts in 2024, the Franklin Cohort will begin in April and the DaVinci Cohort will commence in August. 39 innovative pioneers from NECA member contractors have already completed or are currently active in the Innovation Institute. Industry leading experts in problem-solving have coached these current and future executives as they strengthen their positions as emerging leaders in the industry. The goal of this program is to build candidates into forward-thinking pioneers.
