Las Vegas Sands to Pursue Multi-Billion-Dollar Downstate New York License at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Site on Long Island

With the recent release of the New York State Gaming Commission's Request for Application for three downstate New York gaming licenses, Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS), the world's most valuable integrated resort company, today announced its intention to pursue the development of a multi-billion-dollar flagship hospitality, entertainment and casino project on Long Island, New York.

New York Awards First Contract for $2.3B Syracuse I-81 Project

New York officials have awarded the first construction contract for a controversial $2.3-billion highway project in Syracuse that would remove the I-81 viaduct running through the city. But it is unclear when work can begin since project work remains halted by a state court injunction won by opponents.

On January 14th, 2023, NECA Vice President of Industry Development Lt. Gen. Ronald Bailey was named as the recipient of the Robbie Sparks North Star Award at the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus (EWMC) Conference in Denver. Having just created the Award this year, the EWMC honored Bailey as the first to ever receive the prestigious accolade.
