NECA's Marco Giamberardino Named Chairman of Small Business Legislative Council
The SBLC is an independent, permanent coalition of trade and professional associations who share a common concern for the future of small business. The council aims to increase the influence of the small business community on legislative and federal policy, while also disseminating information on the impact of public policy on small business.
Deadline Extended: Convention Call For Proposals
NECA is looking for members to share best practices, successes and experiences at our annual convention! All NECA members are encouraged to submit proposals to share their stories with their peers. NECA's Annual Convention and Trade Show provides members with the tools needed to keep their companies on top, but we need your help during NECA 2021 Austin. NECA Seeks Input on 2022 Financial Benchmarker Report
NECA and CFMA are teaming up again to develop the Financial Benchmarker report. The report provides an in-depth analysis of key financial data and provides an industry standard that can be used for change order negotiations, audits, claims and more. We're asking members to complete the survey. It is confidential and should take less than 30 minutes to complete. Feedback is due no later than May 21.
US DOL Will Offer Compliance Seminars
The U.S. Department of Labor will offer online compliance seminars for contracting agencies, contractors, unions, workers and other stakeholders to provide information on the requirements governing payment of prevailing wages on federally funded construction and service contracts.Offered by the department's Wage and Hour Division, the seminars are part of the division's ongoing effort to increase awareness and improve compliance with federal prevailing wage requirements.

Safety Webinar Tomorrow!
OSHA's Region 3 Office has joined with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and CPWR – The Center for Construction Research & Training (CPWR) to hold a virtual event aimed at increasing awareness of the electrical hazards present on various construction job sites and solutions to address them. The webinar takes place tomorrow, March 22 at 2:00 PM EST.

In Memoriam
Tony Walsh (1930-2022)
Tony Walsh was born August 26, 1930 to Peter Walsh and Elizabeth Ruhl. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean Conflict. Tony lived the Marine motto Semper Fi, always faithful, until the end. While
in the Marine Corps Tony finished his schooling and received his GED while serving in Guam, a fact that he loved to share. He would later receive his diploma from St Xavier '48. With just a tool belt and determination Tony began a long and
illustrious career in the electrical contracting industry. He became President and CEO of United Electric Co (1970) and under his guidance it would become an industry leader. In addition to his duties with United Electric, he served as Governor
and President of the Louisville Chapter of NECA. Nationally, he served as the NECA Vice President District II and was inducted into the Academy of Electrical Contracting in recognition of his exceptional and outstanding service to the electrical
contracting industry. Tony was proud to be a “card carrying” member of the IBEW 369.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Walsh, sisters, Mary Jane Bickett (Walter), Betty Patterson, Cathy Dunn, brothers-in-law
Don Wilder, Charles Fischer (Dee), Bob Fischer (Dottie), Henri Mangeot, Bill Cuni and sister-in-law Elsie Fischer. Tony is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Fischer Walsh; six children Steve (Terry), Dan (Debra), Eileen Walsh Stokes (Barry),
Tom, John (Denise) and Peggy Karman (Rob); 17 grandchildren and 7 (soon to be 8) great-grandchildren, sister Martha Wilder, brothers-in-law George Fischer (Mary Lee), Pat Patterson, sisters-in-law Peggy Mangeot, Rosemary Cuni, Nancy Furlong (Jack)
and many nieces and nephews.
NECA honors Tony Walsh, and offers condolences and well wishes to his family.
