Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) | 2024 NECA Legislative Conference

Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS)

Senator Roger Marshall, also known as ‘Doc’ Marshall is a physician, devoted father, grandfather, and U.S. Senator for Kansas. Before joining Congress, Doc Marshall practiced medicine in Great Bend for more than 25 years and served in the Army Reserves for seven years. During his time in medicine, Doc Marshall was more than a physician. For 25 years, he was a business owner who signed a paycheck every other week for a practice that grew from 5 people to eventually more than 300.

In the U.S. Senate, Doc Marshall serves on the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry as Ranking Member on both the Subcommittee on Conservation, Climate, Forestry, and Natural Resources and the Subcommittee on Conservation, Climate, Forestry, and Natural Resources. He also serves on the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions on the Subcommittee on Employment and Workforce Safety and as Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Primary Health and Retirement Security. He is also a member of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and Committee on the Budget.

Senator Marshall has been a longtime NECA ally and is a strong advocate for expanding the use of 529 plans to include pre-apprenticeship programs, expanding retirement security options, and ensure a diverse energy production portfolio.
