Prior to being elected to Congress, LaTourette served his community as Lake County (Ohio) prosecutor. In 1990 he was named Prosecution Attorney of the year for his successful prosecution of thirteen members of a murderous religious cult.
Steven LaTourette served 18 years in the U.S. House of Representatives from the state of Ohio. Serving on three subcommittees, LaTourette was the vice chair of the Transportation subcommittee for the 112th Congress. In 2009, he was appointed to the House of Appropriations Committee. Upon retiring from Congress in 2013, LaTourette received universal praise from his fellow congressmen.
Today LaTourette is the president of McDonald Hopkins Government Strategies™ providing strategic counsel at the federal government level. He also serves as president of the Republican Main Street Partnership dedicated to supporting a pragmatic, fiscally conservative governing majority encouraging political debate to solve problems.
