On June 15th, President Trump issued an executive order which called for the establishment of a Task Force on Apprenticeship Expansion. The goal of the task force will be “to identify strategies and proposals to promote apprenticeships, especially in sectors where apprenticeship programs are insufficient.” On July 25, the Dpartment of Labor released a public notice soliciting names that should be placed in nomination for the Task Force.
NECA’s Look Ahead:
This week, NECA President David Hardt submitted the name of NECA’s Chief Executive Officer, John M. Grau in nomination to serve on the Task Force. As this process continues to develop, NECA will advocate for the acceptance of Mr. Grau onto the Task Force so that the viewpoint of one of the strongest and most advanced apprenticeship models in the country is heard.
