1. NECA Heads to the White House to Discuss Workforce Development

On October 31, 2018, NECA contractors visited the White House to join President Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow to participate in a discussion on the nation’s growing economy and the Administration’s comprehensive workforce development efforts to ensure more Americans have the skills necessary to succeed. The president will be announcing that his Pledge to America’s Workers program has now grown to over 160 companies planning to create over 6.3 million career opportunities.

2. NECA Meets with DOT on Hours of Service Regulation

On October 31, 2018, NECA attended a high level meeting at the Department of Transposition with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Administrator Raymond P. Martinez and Deputy AdministratorCathy F. Gautreaux. The meeting centered around examining a construction industry exception to the Hours of Service regulation.
