 1. With the recent creation of the Joint Select Committee on Solvency of Multiemployer Pension Plans, both House and Senate leadership have announced their choices for Members to serve on this committee. Some of the appointments to this panel, consisting of 16 members in total (8 from each chamber, divided equally from each party) have been longtime players in this area, while others are very much considered newcomers. The Select Committee is required to meet together prior to March 11, and there is a great deal of speculation surrounding which topics the committee will discuss.

2. With the passage of the NECA-supported Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, the House and Senate created a Joint Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations Process Reform, which is charged with advancing reforms to the budget and appropriations process.

3. On February 27, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) officially announced he is withdrawing his FAA bill, which included the privatization of Air Traffic Control. The Shuster proposal was opposed by the Senate.
