1. In response to the challenges facing the multiemployer system, Reps. Phil Roe (R-TN) and Donald Norcross (D-NJ) introduced the NECA-supported bipartisan Giving Retirement Options for Workers (GROW) Act (HR 4997) on February 13.

The legislation, which was carefully developed over the past several years, aims to do three things:compositeplan graphic
  • Modernizes the multiemployer system
  • Strengthens retirement security for workers while protecting retirees in traditional multiemployer pensions
  • Fosters business growth and competitiveness by providing greater certainty and stability for employers

As long advocated by NECA, the GROW plan would allow for the use of composite plans and would create a sustainable and viable retirement option for our contractors and workers.
