On December 7, 2016, the second to last voting day of the 114th
Congress, the Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter visited Capitol Hill to meet with their representatives from Pennsylvania.
They, along with Marco, met with Reps. Tom Marino (R-PA), Lou Barletta (R-PA), and Matt Cartwright (D-PA), and attended an event in support of Rep. Pat Meehan (R-PA).
At the legislative meetings, the Chapter discussed two issues that they had advocated for this year, the authorization of composite plan design for multiemployer pension reform and the five-year extension of investment tax credits that provide incentives for clean and efficient energy technologies.
Neither provision was ultimately included in the Continuing Resolution that will keep the government running through the first weeks of the Trump Administration’s term. Because the C.R. was the last opportunity to propel these measures into law this year, NECA will look to a new Congress in January to pass these unaddressed proposals.
