The work of several members of the National Electrical Contractors Association was featured in a recent article from Ohio-based Business Journal Daily.
The electrical contractors mentioned include VEC Inc. and Joe Dickey Electric Inc (both members of NECA’s Mahoning Valley Chapter) and Bruce and Merrilees Electric Company (a member of NECA’s Western Pennsylvania Chapter). Former NECA President Rex Ferry is the owner and CEO of VEC, Inc.
That article explains that large projects are “good news” for the region’s electrical contractors, according to the story, but it also presents challenges. New technology, though, has shown the potential to improve efficiency.
Like many other contractors, VEC and Bruce & Merrilees Electric use modeling technologies to create renderings of sites, according to the article.
“We’re doing more things with laser-scanning substations and giving customers a 3-D model or using ground-penetrating radar to determine exactly what’s underground to provide a complete as-is condition [report],” Bruce & Merrilees Vice President Justin Bruce told the Business Journal.
