David Goodson

David Goodson is the Vice President of Leapley Construction, a market-leading commercial contractor serving the corporate interior, healthcare, higher education and commercial markets in Atlanta, Georgia. He is an accomplished operational leader with 13 years of in-depth expertise in delivering challenging projects to meet contractual requirements and the company’s strategic goals for growth.

Throughout his career, David has delivered complex construction and capital improvement projects for clients through his diverse experience in both facility management and general contractor roles. He began his career as a mechanical supervisor for field operations at Norfolk Southern. Over seven years with the organization, he was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility, including as the Senior Manager of Facility Services responsible for the operations of all corporate facilities in the metro-Atlanta area, including the 470,000 SF headquarters building, a training center campus, and all data center infrastructure. Pivoting from the transportation sector, David then joined The Coca-Cola Company as the Facilities Management Lead where he was responsible for 2.4 million square feet of the beverage company’s global headquarters campus, including office space and research lab environments.

In 2019, David Goodson joined Leapley Construction as a project manager to lead commercial construction projects for global brands in the metropolitan area while improving operational efficiencies and technology infrastructure for the private, woman-owned company. In this role, David delivered the complex build-out of Microsoft’s 523,000 SF Atlanta campus during the global pandemic. Under David’s leadership, the challenging project achieved 52% diverse supplier inclusion and earned major industry awards from CoreNet Global, the International Interior Design Association and the Associated General Contractors of Georgia. He was subsequently promoted to Project Director and, in 2024, Vice President.

David, who earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University, is a community and sustainability champion for the business and is passionate about learning and development and connecting others with growth opportunities in commercial real estate.
