The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is proud to celebrate the sixth National Apprenticeship Week, held November 8–14, 2020. This U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) celebration gives businesses, communities, and educators the opportunity to highlight their apprenticeship programs and demonstrate the value of these programs to the workforce and U.S. economy. David Long, chief executive officer of NECA, issued the following statement on National Apprenticeship Week:

“Apprenticeship programs are absolutely critical to the growth of the electrical construction industry, and we at NECA are incredibly proud of the options we offer apprentices to show them the benefits of a career in this industry. The electrical training ALLIANCE, our joint training program with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, has trained over 350,000 apprentices to journeyman status through local affiliate programs, developing the best electrical workers the industry has to offer. As we move forward, developing the next generation of union electrical workers is key to our industry’s ongoing success, and the U.S. economy as a whole.”
