The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) announces the addition of Deena Tauster as Director of Government Affairs. Tauster comes to NECA from Amtrak, where she served as Senior Officer in Amtrak's Government Affairs function. In that role, Tauster helped build and manage Amtrak's relationships with national stakeholder organizations and state and local officials.
Previously, Tauster served on the staff of Congressman Peter King (R-NY). During that time, she advised Rep. King on a broad portfolio of issues including labor, trade, transportation, health care and homeland security. Most significantly, she staffed the Congressman on passage and implementation of the 9/11 Health and Compensation Act and the Hurricane Sandy supplemental appropriations bill. A native of Long Island, New York, Tauster is a graduate of George Washington University and lives in Washington, DC.
“We are excited to welcome Deena to the NECA team,” said Marco Giamberardino, NECA Executive Director of Government Affairs. “Her expertise covers a wide range of issues that NECA members have identified as priorities to the success of their business operations. We believe her experience in policymaking, as well as the political process, will make her a great addition to our growing advocacy efforts.”
For more than 100 years, NECA has worked to advance legislation and regulatory policies that impact the electrical construction industry’s opportunity and ability to operate efficiently, profitably and in the best interest of its customers.
