2021 National Award Winners: Henry Brown Honored With 2021 James H. McGraw Award

Oct 10, 2021

Henry Brown

The National Electrical Contractors Association has selected Henry Brown as the recipient of the 2021 James H. McGraw Award, which was established to honor a person in the electrical contracting industry who has contributed some new or useful idea to the electrical contracting industry or performed an industry service over and above normal responsibility to personal or company progress.

Brown was presented with the award on Oct. 10 as part of the NECA Convention and Trade Show in Nashville, Tennessee.

Brown is a third-generation CEO of Miller Electric Company in Jacksonville, Fla. Throughout his career he has shown a commitment to furthering the electrical contracting industry in North Florida and nationwide, with an emphasis on fostering a culture that embraces all who wish to be a part of the industry.

Under his leadership, the North Florida Chapter has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jacksonville Urban League, a group that advocates for promoting access to quality education, economic opportunity, and health and wellness to underserved communities. He has advocated for the establishment of NECA Student Chapters at historically black colleges and directly encourages the promotion of diversity and inclusion at JATC programs. This has resulted in a wide-ranging recruiting map that has improved the quantity and quality of electrical apprenticeship candidates in his region.
