NECA Member Koehler Electric Completes Lighting Project For Iowa Museum

Sep 03, 2019

Koehler Electric, a member of the National Electrical Contractors Association’s Quad Cities Chapter, played a significant role in helping a historic building in Iowa celebrate a major milestone.

The German American Heritage Center in downtown Davenport, marked 25 years since its founding this year. It underwent renovations over the years, and union electricians recently replaced the lights with energy efficient LEDs, which saved the nonprofit money as a replacement for incandescent and fluorescent lighting.

Koehler Electric, founded in 1969 and based in Davenport, was the contractor hired to do the work. The facility was originally a hotel.

"There's a lot of targeted lighting in a museum so that you highlight specific areas," Dave McCracken, Koehler Electric’s business development manager, told WQAD. "It's not just one big, bright room.”
