Electrical Contractors Continue Push for Permanent Tax Reform on Tax Day

Apr 15, 2019

With Tax Day here, the National Electrical Contractors Association’s Chief Executive Officer, David Long, released the following statement on NECA’s tax policy agenda:

“Millions of Americans have spent recent weeks, and sometimes months, focused on their taxes. Like all tax-paying Americans, many contractors have seen the benefit of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in this year’s returns. It is clear to us that the comprehensive tax reform enacted last Congress was a success.

“Making sure that the success of this reform is permanent remains one of NECA’s top priorities. On this Tax Day, I want to thank the Congressional leaders who are supportive of sensible tax reform, especially Reps. Jason Smith (R-MO) and Henry Cuellar (D-TX) and Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT). They introduced H.R. 216, the Main Street Tax Certainty Act of 2019, which would help ensure permanent tax relief for the millions of employers organized as S corporations, partnerships and sole proprietorships. This legislation will give electrical contractors nationwide the predictability they need to continue to grow their companies.

“This much-needed certainty for the tax code will continue to propel economic growth and make America even more competitive while contributing to the tax bases of the federal government, ensuring success not just for NECA contractors but for all hard-working Americans.”
