The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) released the following statement from CEO John M. Grau in response to President Donald J. Trump’s State of the Union address:
“On behalf of the National Electrical Contractors Association, I want to congratulate President Trump on his call during the State of the Union to choose greatness over division and to seek common ground over partisanship.”
Grau went on to say, “Our nation faces serious challenges and we need to find bipartisan solutions to improve infrastructure, healthcare, trade, and other issues central to the President’s agenda. NECA worked closely with the Administration in supporting the goals outlined in the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) and quickly came to appreciate the President’s strong support for the construction industry. I thank the President for continuing to call for a bipartisan effort to rebuild America’s infrastructure and strengthen America’s workforce; there can be no doubt that it is no longer business as usual in Washington. The National Electrical Contractors Association, and our nearly 4,000 member companies, call on Congress and the Administration to work in a spirit of cooperation and compromise.”
