Mark Your Calendars - April 15-17, 2019
Details are firming up for the 2019 Labor Relations Conference. It will be held April 15-17, 2019 at the JW Marriott in New Orleans.
We will kick things off with a General Session on Monday afternoon, followed by a reception: A better way to spend April 15th than filing taxes.
A full day of programs will follow on Tuesday, followed by our “traditional” reception at K-Pauls, a landmark in the French Quarter and a favorite of attendees at past conferences.
Speaking of the French Quarter, the JW Marriott is close to the Quarter, but not within it. Located at 614 Canal Street, it is promoted as both “Romantic and Family Friendly.” Just the place to visit a host of downtown New Orleans attractions, restaurants, etc.
The Conference will end by noon on Wednesday. Special room rates are being confirmed and will run before and after the conference for those interested in spending a little more time in the Crescent City.
So save the dates. We will be sending out registration and hotel information soon but wanted to make sure you had the date information early enough to include in your planning for next year.
Employee Benefits Conference Reminder
The 2019 Employee Benefits Conference will be held January 29 – 30 at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida. This will be the first time the conference has been held at the TradeWinds Island resort, which is located in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. While the dates of the conference are in the last week of January, the scheduling has changed, from Thursday – Friday to Tuesday – Wednesday, with an extra day of pre-conference programs added.
There will be an administrators’ meeting and workshop on the “new look” of the conference on Sunday afternoon, January 27, followed by a reception. Monday, January 28, will feature additional workshops on topics including fiduciary responsibility, private markets, the proper construction of a fund portfolio and the day will end with a plenary session on ERISA: Where It Came From, How Well It Has Worked, Where It Should Go by Phyllis Borsi, former head of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration. The Conference itself will begin Tuesday morning and run through noon on Wednesday, January 30.
