Did you know the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s On-Site Consultation Program conducted approximately 26,000 visits to small business worksites during the 2017 fiscal year?
That covered over 1.1 million workers across the nation.
OSHA is offering free on-site consultations on complying with recent electronic reporting requirements to small- and medium-sized businesses in every U.S. state and territory.
Services in the On-Site Consultation Program are separate from enforcement and do not result in penalties or citations. Consultations are voluntary and confidential.
Consultants from state agencies or universities work with employers such as electrical contractors to identify workplace hazards, provide advice for compliance with OSHA standards, and assist in establishing and improving safety and health programs.
The service is delivered by state governments using well-trained professional staff. Most consultations take place on-site, though limited services away from the worksite are available.
