Electrical Contractors Hail Reopening Federal Government, Cadillac Tax Delay

Jan 23, 2018

The following is a statement by John M. Grau, Chief Executive Officer of the National Electrical Contractors Association:

“The Congress did the right thing and voted to reopen the federal government, which will return certainty for our contractors who perform a wide variety of energy and power projects on behalf of the American taxpayer. We are also especially pleased that Congressional leaders heard our continuing concerns over 40 percent “Cadillac Tax.” Delaying the looming imposition of this wrong-headed policy an additional two-years to 2022 will temporarily protect our contractors and their employees from this burdensome tax increase.

Repeal of the Cadillac Tax has wide bipartisan support and NECA will continue to work with Congressional leaders to ensure this tax is fully repealed as soon as possible.”
