Ensuring the Safety of Electric Power Workers Through Strategic Partnership
Multiple resources for protecting workers in the high-voltage electric line construction, transmission and distribution industry have been made available through the Electrical Transmission & Distribution (ET&D) Partnership.
The ET&D Partnership is a formal collaboration of industry stakeholders, working together to improve safety for workers in the electric line construction industry. It is currently the only national partnership between employers and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Initiated in 2004, the primary goal of the partnership has been to reduce the number of fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the Industry through development and implementation of industry best practices, education, and awareness.
Recently, the ET&D partnership released a white paper, describing accomplishments and goals, and providing best practices for keeping workers safe. The website includes links to training resources and a newly launched best practices app, available free to download from the Apple Store and Google Play.
