Electrical Contractors Hail Passage of Senate Energy Bill

Apr 20, 2016

John M. Grau, CEO of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), released the following statement on the passage of the Energy Policy Modernization Act:

“NECA has voiced its strong support of the Energy Policy Modernization Act and is pleased to see its passage in the Senate. This long-awaited and comprehensive energy policy bill focuses on the transmission, distribution, and storage of energy to ensure we have the necessary infrastructure to meet today’s modern energy challenges and will bring our nation’s energy policies into the 21st century.”

“I would like to thank Senate Energy and Natural Resources Chairwoman Murkowski and Ranking Member Cantwell for their bipartisan efforts to navigate this bill successfully through the Senate.”

“The benefits of this legislation are clear: job creation, energy security, energy independence, and economic growth. Creating more jobs in the construction industry is in the national interest, and this legislation will help meet this goal.”

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is the nationally recognized voice of the $130 billion electrical construction industry.
