"When the challenge is to remain competitive, success-driven electrical contractors find a way."
President Quebe's statement in the President's Desk column in the January edition of ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR magazine is a succinct summation of what business developers do. In fact, the entire editorial is an excellent discourse on business development.
Business developers help companies 'find a way' to increase profitability through more efficient performance of traditional work and the capture of new types of work in emerging technologies. This is why both NECA and the IBEW are placing an ever-increasing emphasis on business development.
This year NECA will launch our first-ever meeting dedicated solely to the topic of business development. NECA and LMCC staff are invited to attend and network with and learn from their peers and guest presenters while discussing revenue enhancement opportunities from both traditional work and emerging technologies like wind, solar, combined heat and power (CHP), microgrids, electric vehicles, energy storage, and energy efficiency. The final agenda is available to view/download under "Related Documents" at the end of this article, or can be viewed here >
